Fr. Perrone will present a sequential commentary to explain the why and wherefore of the various parts of the Roman rite employing actors to simulate the ritual gestures. He will explain that the ceremony of the Catholic Mass was developed from Apostolic tradition under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. This talk aims to be a fascinating, factual and fast moving explanation of the Mass that answers the often contemplated but seldom addressed questions about why the Mass is the way it is. Fr. Perrone, ordained for the Archdiocese of Detroit in 1978, has been the pastor of Assumption Grotto Church since 1994. Father has a degree in Music composition and a master’s degree in Theology. Besides his pastoral work, he often gives talks to special groups and directs the parish choir in some of the great choral and orchestral Masses of the Church’s heritage. He also is a founder and spiritual director of Call to Holiness, Inc. and spiritual director of two Carmelite Communities in Detroit.
