Bishop Athanasius Schneider, ORC will discuss

The Sacredness of the Holy Eucharist and the Fathers of the Church. 

Bishop Schneider’s book Dominus Est – It is the Lord, Reflections on Holy Communion was published in Italian by the Vatican Press in 2008 and is now available in English, published by Newman House Press.  This book offers readers insights into the sacrality which ought to surround the distribution and reception of Holy Communion. The book comes with the endorsement of the two highest officials in the Vatican’s Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.

Most Reverend Athanasius Schneider has a Ph.D. in Patristics from the Augustinium in Rome.  He was ordained in the Order of Canons Regular of the Holy Cross and served on the General Council of the Order before being sent to Kazakhstan. He is also, as a member of the Order, a member of the Opus Sanctorum Angelorum. He  brings a unique perspective to the faith, having made his First Holy Communion in secrecy within the former Soviet Union.  He was named auxiliary bishop of Karaganda, Kazakhstan in 2006.
